The National Voice of the APA Legal Community Since 1988

The National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) is the national association of Asian Pacific American attorneys, judges, law professors, and law students. NAPABA represents the interests of over 50,000 attorneys and 81 national, state, and local bar associations. Its members include solo practitioners, large firm lawyers, corporate counsel, legal services and non-profit attorneys, and lawyers serving at all levels of government. NAPABA engages in legislative and policy advocacy, promotes Asian Pacific American political leadership and political appointments, and builds coalitions within the legal profession and the community at large. NAPABA also serves as a resource for government agencies, members of Congress, and public service organizations about Asian Pacific Americans in the legal profession, civil rights, and diversity in the courts.

Important Officer Elections Update | Aug. 27, 2018

Ballots for the election of officer candidates for the 2018-19 NAPABA Board of Governors will not be distributed today, as previously announced. The NAPABA Nominating & Elections Committee has been reviewing election-related complaints and has determined that additional time is needed to resolve these issues before the voting period may commence. Members will be notified about the updated elections timeline once those decisions are made. In the meantime, the NAPABA Nominating & Elections Committee urges voters to consider the qualifications of each candidate on an individual basis and to refrain from supporting any “slate” or grouping together of candidates, or otherwise choosing candidates on the basis of their affiliations with other candidates, whether those affiliations are actual or by implication.

If you have any questions, you may contact the NAPABA Nominating & Elections Committee Chair George Chen or NAPABA Executive Director Tina Matsuoka

The Nominating and Elections Committee is pleased to present for your consideration the officer candidates for 2018-19. The Committee has approved candidates who not only have demonstrated leadership capabilities, but more importantly who also have seriously considered their goals for NAPABA, the challenges and opportunities they see facing NAPABA in the coming year and how they anticipate accomplishing them. Beyond participation, we believe leadership and accomplishment are key. In preparation of the exercise of your right to vote, we encourage you to take the time to consider the vision each candidate has for NAPABA and to make your selections accordingly.
