My Vision and Commitment to You

The reason I’m running for election as Treasurer is that I believe I can help NAPABA complete the development of a nationally coordinated fundraising strategy, something that is part of the long term strategic plan developed by the NAPABA Board of Governors. For example:

  • Although some of the groundwork has already been laid, I plan to work with the VP of Finance to formalize the creation of a national sponsorship committee to provide continuity, stability and strengthened sponsor relations, all of which will benefit NAPABA’s long term fundraising efforts and help NAPABA more efficiently manage its expenses.

  • I believe that NAPABA should strive to seek sponsorship funding a year in advance of our annual convention (because most of our sponsors budget their funding allocations that far in advance) rather than the same year as the convention (when our sponsor’s ability and flexibility may be more limited) and I expect to work with the VP of Finance to develop and execute a multi-year plan to move NAPABA in that direction.

I am well suited to accomplish these goals and have demonstrated my ability to collaborate with others to successfully develop and execute long term strategies and plans. For example, as one of only two members of the Central Region on the NAPABA Board, I’ve had to work hard to build relationships, seek consensus and find the common ground among my fellow Board members and other NAPABA members. Furthermore, one of my primary responsibilities as a law firm partner is to manage accounts in order to develop, maintain and grow client relationships.

In conclusion, I am committed to working hard toward the long term development of NAPABA as a strong, unified, cohesive and powerful organization that stands up for our members’ rights and exerts influence in areas important to our members. These goals cannot be achieved without financial stability, and I believe I am the best candidate to execute a long term strategy to achieve these goals.
